About me

Hi, I am an 11th grade student at Louise S. McGehee school in New Orleans. I am an English/History minded person, but biology was my favorite class at school. I previously attended a Catholic school so a switch to a non-denominational school was a change, but I still attend church every Sunday so religion is still an important part of my life. At McGehee, I’ve established a connection with my teachers where there is a mutual respect and I could meet with them anytime to talk, about school or otherwise. The teachers have created an environment where students can thrive instead of only being defined by a grade. Students are seen as people rather than robots and it makes all the difference. I started here in fourth grade and plan to graduate here as well. I wouldn't be happier anywhere else.

I was raised in a family of 10 with three sisters and four brothers. Each of my siblings has made an impact on me whether it was an older kid teaching me how to make a life or a younger kid teaching me how to live. My parents are two of the most selfless people I have ever met and have given me every opportunity to succeed and be happy. I am a very close to my siblings and for the first time in 16 years, I have my own room. Even though I share the majority of my time/belongings with my siblings, I also have my own niches. In my spare time, I like to paint and research art, participate in musicals, and babysit. At school I was elected Class President so I am very active in the executive committee, and I am involved in Girls Learn International, a club that supports and encourages empowered women in order to create a new generation of social activists. When I am older, I would like to travel and study medicine abroad.
